Tickets for the highly-anticipated season opener for Colts football will go on sale Friday, August 12th at 5:30 pm at DeSales High School. General admission tickets are available for $6.00 each.
The August 19th contest - a home game versus Fairdale - will mark the first time in school history that the varsity team will enjoy a home field advantage on its own campus, thanks to the development of a $6.1 million multi-sport facility that will also host soccer and baseball.
Plans for the stadium began developing in July of 2013, which led to the kickoff of "The Time Is Now" Strategic Initiative in February of 2014. In addition to the outdoor facility, the Time Is Now initiative enabled DeSales to renovate areas inside the school building as well as increase the amount of financial aid available to school families.
Pre-game festivities will include a stadium dedication ceremony at 7:15 pm, highlighted by Louisville Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, D.D. who will bless the new facility.
Due to the possibility of a sell-out, DeSales encourages fans to purchase tickets early to ensure entry. Reserved chairback season tickets, which went on sale in May, sold out in less than three weeks.
The first official action in the stadium will occur on Monday, August 15, as the DeSales soccer team takes on North Bullitt at 6:00 pm.
