Greg Miller Hired as Wrestling Coach

Greg Miller

DeSales High School has announced the hiring of Greg Miller as the new head coach of the wrestling team.

Greg becomes the second head coach for the wrestling program in DeSales history, replacing Alan Martin, who brought the sport to the school in 1994.

A product of St. Bernard Catholic School and Fern Creek High School, Greg has been a member of the wrestling staff since 2009.  In the last six years, he has played an integral role in the program, not only as coach, but also as a lead figure in the development of an on-campus wrestling facility.  In 2011, the new practice room was named in honor of Coach Martin.

Greg and his wife Debbie first got involved at DeSales when their son, Greg ’96, was a student.  Their other sons, Christopher '01 and Austin '13 are also DeSales alumni.  In 2013, Greg received the Outstanding Service Award at the Hall of Honors recognition dinner for his involvement with the team.

In coaching, as in life, Greg is a big believer in hard work and dedication.  "Wrestling is a sport that builds individual character and self-confidence," he said.  "And working with these young men at DeSales has been the opportunity of a lifetime that I am excited to continue with."
