With the opening of a new on-campus athletic stadium, DeSales High School will enter into an historic year of athletics this August. And starting today, those wanting to be in on the action can get reserved passes for the much-anticipated inaugural fall season of football and soccer.
A limited quantity of season passes are now on sale for all 2016 regular season football/soccer home games. DeSales will host six varsity football games and about a dozen home varsity soccer matches.
Football/soccer season passes will provide reserved chairback seating in the middle of the stadium and the convenience of not waiting in line to buy game tickets.
Season passes cost $60 each. If all passes are not sold, the remaining reserved seats will be available for purchase on game day at $10 each. General admission will be bleacher seating. Season passes will be available for pick-up during the summer at a date to be determined.
The 2016 home football schedule has the Colts playing up in Class in four games - Fairdale (5A), Fern Creek (5A), Southern (5A), and North Hardin (6A) - while 2A cross-city rival Christian Academy visits DeSales on Oct. 7. District foe Washingon Co. comes to town on Oct. 14.
Colts soccer will enjoy home field advantage in nearly a dozen matches in the new stadium, including contests with four of the top five Region Six finishers from last year: Fairdale, Butler, Holy Cross and Southern.
DeSales will formally dedicate the new stadium at a ceremony before the first home football game on Aug. 19th. Special guests and giveaways will highlight a night that has been 60 years in the making. More details will be released in the coming months regarding this memorable occasion.
