What did you do after graduation?
I went to Centre College to continue my athletic and academic career. I played one season of football before I came back home to attend Bellarmine University in 2014. I graduated in 2017 with a degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology.
Where are you and what are you doing now?
Currently, I live in Louisville and attend the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. I am in my third and final year of law school. I will graduate in May 2020.
What classes and experiences did you have at DeSales that are beneficial to the work you do now?
Although I didn't enjoy it at the time, Mr. Sommer's English classes helped me tremendously. I hated reading and writing, but he made us do it. Now, in law school, there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not reading and writing for hours a day.
What is the most important thing you learned while at DeSales?
To simply have faith and trust in God. I have faith in what God wants me to do with my life and I trust the path he has me on. I am not sure I would understand that if it weren't for DeSales.
What advice do you have for current students?
Enjoy it while you can! I love what I am doing now, but I miss DeSales every day. I miss playing football, basketball and baseball. I miss the people, both students and teachers. It's a great atmosphere. It's home. I can always come back, but you can't get this time back. Enjoy it!
Do you still stay in touch with DeSales friends?
Most definitely! My best friends all went to DeSales. I have close friends from college, but I spend the majority of my time with DeSales friends. It's part of the reason I love DeSales so much.
What's next for you? Where do you see yourself in five years?
I graduated law school in May 2020 and once I pass the bar exam, I have a job lined up. I want to buy a house and start a family eventually. Right now, I am just taking it one step at a time.
