High School Graduation Year
2021
What did you do right after graduation? College/career/travel/military?
I went to college at the University of Louisville and graduated in 3 years with my bachelors in Law and Public Policy.
Please describe DeSales in three words.
Brotherhood, community, and love.
Where are you and what are you doing now?
I am here at DeSales teaching Health/P.E. and I am coaching U12 soccer at Falls City Soccer Club.
What do you like most about what you are doing?
I love having the opportunity to mentor and work with young men as they begin to make sense of themselves and this world that they live in. They are all wonderful people and make work fun!
What is your favorite memory about DeSales?
My favorite memory has to be my senior retreat. Though it was during Covid, I still made memories and learned valuable lessons that I will forever cherish. I am very appreciative of the DeSales faculty and staff for making the most of my classes senior year during the pandemic!
Who influenced you most during your time at DeSales?
Coach Mac and Coach Barney are two role models who inspired me and influenced me to grow as a DeSales man. As lifelong Colts, they know better than anyone else what it takes to be a true man of DeSales. I am also influenced by Mr. Sommer and Mr. P, who inspired me to pursue teaching.
What classes and learning experiences did you have at DeSales that are beneficial to the work you do?
I would like to say that Health/P.E. with Coach Barney is beneficial to me now, as I teach this subject now. However, American Pop Culture with Mr. Horsley helped me to understand the needs of current students and their interactions with the world around them.
What is the most important thing you learned while you were at DeSales?
Apart from learning how to tie a tie, I think the most valuable lesson I learned at DeSales is the value of being timely and professional. I think my lessons in timeliness and professionalism helped me to succeed in college and in the professional world.
What advice do you have for current (or potential) students at DeSales?
I would certainly advise current DeSales students to take risks, try new things, and to always try your best at any task you are given. Your teachers really care about you, and there are many valuable things to learn from them. My advice would be to let them influence you and to take an open mind to any new opportunity presented.
What is your favorite DeSales Event? Why?
My favorite DeSales event is football season. I love football season because it is a rallying event for everyone in the DeSales community. I enjoy seeing the danger zone in action, the guys giving 100% on the field, and everyone in the community coming to support them at Paul B. Cox Stadium.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to cook, watch soccer, hike, bike, listen to music, and read in my free time.
What is something people may not know about you?
You may (or may not) know that I have 9 siblings!
Do you still stay in touch with any of your DeSales friends?
I do still stay in touch with many of my DeSales friends, and see them often. The brotherhood is not limited to your 4 years in the building, and can be lifelong if you invest in your DeSales experience properly.
What’s next for you/where do you see yourself in five years?
I hope to continue coaching and teaching! I also hope to go to graduate school and receive my masters at teaching.
