Veterans Memorial
The DeSales Alumni Veterans Memorial is located on the front lawn of DeSales High School. It features an inlaid brick five-pointed star, as well as a flag pole and a memorial bench for pausing and reflecting.
The memorial was dedicated on October 7, 2005, in a formal ceremony with DeSales students, alumni, former mayor Jerry Abramson and other dignitaries in attendance.
Each appendage of the brick star represents a specific branch of the military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. At the head of each appendage is a plaque listing the names of DeSales alumni who died while serving in that particular branch of service. Below these plaques are brick pavers engraved with names and class years of DeSales alumni who served in the armed forces.
Thank you to all of our alumni Veterans. We do not want to leave anyone off this list - if you see that someone is missing, please complete this form.
If you have retired or received an honorable discharge from service and are interested in adding your name to the momument, you may purchase a paver through DeSales for $75.00. The paver will be engraved as follows:
John A. Doe (NAME)
Class of #### (DESALES CLASS YEAR)
USN 19##-19## (BRANCH & YEARS OF SERVICE)
